The Book of Victory

Introduction

This is a book written in draconic that describes how humans in the foundation of Drakeholt banished the dragons to claim the Wyrm Lands. They cannot be easily read or translated by the players. There is a book in Molgond's cottage that can help, but their only realistic chance of translating the book is to visit Drakeholt.

The Text

The Book of Victory

The struggle was long and hard. Much has been lost or destroyed and many were lost. Our life cannot return to the way it was, but we have made a new start. Our hopes are high that we will succeed.

We finally brought Guthu to bay and have defeated the monstrosity. We could not have achieved this without the help of Dorvoros. Despite her form, she undertands that Guthu is the enemy of us all.

Guthu was destroyed, and his soul was captured. It has been locked away and will be kept secure by the keepers of the Drake Hold for all eternity. It must never be released or allowed to take shape again.

The rest, all the many who supported Guthu, we have banished with Dorvoros help. They cannot come back unless the worlds drift closer together once more. That will not happen for many centuries.

The Seers of the Order foretell that the worlds may touch again one day. At midsummer when the boundaries are weak. Then we must be vigilant for Guthu’s soul will strive to bring his kind back to this world.

Dorvoros says that we should watch for the signs. The lesser creatures under Guthu’s influence will reappear as the worlds draw closer. His soul will sense the change. Then we must be vigilant.

Dorvoros left her token with us. She says that when the boundary weakens it will help. We do not know how, but hope that when the time comes that we will find a way to use it and protect our world.

This record will be kept in the sanctuary that commemorates our victory in case in after years the memory grows dim.

Myrehall

Can anyone help with the book in Myrehall? Not really.

Jed:

Arr. Looks like an old book you got there. Never took the time to learn to read me-self.

Terrowin:

Well yes that's looks very interesting. I'm sure that Lord Hugon's librarian would have something to say about that. I'm sure he'd find it terribly interesting.

Olaf:

What an interesting old book. Can I read it? No no, I don't understand the letters.
